Learning Objectives: Participants will (be able to): 1. Discuss the natural history of diabetic nephropathy as well as the treatment options when there is an acute superimposed insult. 2. Reflect upon upcoming potential novel agent to control this epidemic. 3. Rethink their practice in terms of ordering renal biopsy. Target Audience: The Department of Medicine faculty, housestaff and students, though many topics will be of interest to housestaff, students and other faculty members within the University of CT School of Medicine and Dental Medicine.
