Introduction to Business Incubation Programs in Connecticut - Technology Commercialization Seminar Series - June 16

Business Incubator programs are designed to accelerate and nurture the development of startup companies. By offering office and/or laboratory space, along with business development support services, business incubators help small businesses overcome the challenges of becoming established, achieving profitability, and becoming integrated into the regional economy. Since the early 1980s incubator programs have grown rapidly in number throughout the United States and internationally, and are now a well-established component of economic development strategy. Given the difficult economic conditions throughout the country, incubators are receiving significant attention for their proven ability to support early-stage companies and create sustainable employment. Although Connecticut is home to a number of incubator programs, many entrepreneurs and small businesses have yet to learn of their existence, or are not familiar with the array of services offered and the benefits of participating. This seminar / webinar is designed to inform entrepreneurs about Connecticut’s incubator programs and provide a brief overview of the focus and support services of each. Speakers will describe their individual programs, and then the group will field questions from the audience.
